DAL BAATI CHURMA BY DELICIOUS RECIPE

 



Ingredients for Dal (Mix Dal)

  • Moong ki Dhuli dal 1/4 cup
  • Urad ki dal 1/4 cup
  • Chana dal 1/4 cup
  • Arhar or Toovar dal 1/4 cup
  • Ground red chili 1 tsp
  • Ginger 2 tbsp grated
  • Cumin 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida 1 pinch
  • Dry whole chili 2-3
  • Cloves 3-4
  • Green cardamom 2
  • 1-inch piece of cinnamon
  • Bay leaf 2
  • Tomatoes 5-6 medium-sized
  • Green chilies 2-3 finely chopped
  • Oil or Ghee 4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Green Coriander 2 tsp finely chopped
  • Lemon juice 2 tsp

 Ingredients for Baati

  • Flour 2 cups
  • semolina cup
  • Celery 1 tsp
  • Salt 2 tsp
  • Baking Powder tsp
  • Desi Ghee 1 cup 

Steps for Making Dal

  • Wash all four pulses with clean water and soak them in four cups of water for an hour.
  • Put turmeric and salt in the pulse and put it on the gas in the cooker, after one whistle, cook it on low flame for 10 more minutes, let the cooker cool down.
  • When the cooker cools down, open it and mash the lentils with a spoon, if the lentils are too thick, then add some hot water.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add cumin, asafoetida, red chilli, bay leaf, clove, cinnamon, small cardamom, ginger, green chilli, tomato, and fry till tomatoes melt, now add red chilli powder as well.
  • Then add boiled lentils to it, mix well and cook till it comes to a boil. Then turn off the gas and add lemon juice and green coriander to it.
  • Dal is ready

Steps in Making Baati

  • Mix semolina, salt, baking powder, and two tablespoons of desi ghee in the flour.
  • Knead hard by adding water as required
  • Now pre-heat the oven, take the dough and cut lemon sized balls out of it and make round balls of it, make all the batis and keep them,
  • Now put the bati in a baking tray with a little ghee, put the tray in the oven and cook for 15-20 minutes and turn the bati once in the middle. So that it gets cooked from both sides. If making in Kadhai deep fry all baati. 
  • After cooking, serve the bati with hot dal dipped in desi ghee.

Steps in Making Churma

  • Let the cooked baati cool down a bit, then break it and grind it in a mixer. Mix half the size of jaggery and desired dry fruits and one spoon of ghee from the bati.
  • Churma is ready, serve it along with dal baati.
