Masala Poha Recipe


Ingredients
  • 1 cup poha
  • ⅓ cup onion finely chopped
  • ⅓ cup tomato finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies finely chopped
  • 1-inch ginger grated
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 1 lime juice
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
  1. Take poha in a large bowl, add water, wash it, and rinse it. Again pour some water, rinse it and let it sit for 10 minutes in a strainer.
  2. Poha should not crunchy, when you break them with hand, it should easily crushed and mashed.
  3. To cook it, Take 1 tbsp oil into the pan, heat it. Add cumin seeds and let it crackle.
  4. Then add curry leaves, onion, and tomato and cook them till they are softened. Now add green chili paste and ginger paste into it. let cook for 30 seconds.
  5. Now add masala like turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. mix them well
  6. Then add poha and mix it well. Then add half cup water and cover with the lid and cover with 2-3 minutes.
  7. at last add some sugar, lemon juice, and a pinch of garam masala. stir all together and again cook for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with some fresh coriander leaves.
Notes
1) You can have this masala poha at breakfast or with tea.
2) Good lunchbox recipe for kids also, you can adjust the amount of chili for kids.
